VOLUNTEER

SSOM Alumni Board volunteers participate in the White Coat Ceremony

The following is a list of opportunities for Stritch alum to become involved in the student and alumni experience at the medical school. These events are sponsored by the Stritch Alumni Association. If you are interested in participating in any of these activities, contact the Alumni Relations office at (708) 216-6576 or development@lumc.edu.

  • Alumni Association Board Member: Take a leadership role and join the Stritch Alumni Association Board. Help shape programs and policies that serve alumni and the medical school. A call for nominations will go out at the end of the year, and you can nominate yourself if you’re interested in joining the board.

  • Disorientation Dinner: Spend the evening connecting with fourth-year medical students the week before graduation. The dinner is a low-key event, with the goal of introducing the fourth year class to current alumni.

  • Event Host/Sponsor/Participant: Become actively involved in regional events, from outreach programs to small private dinners, where Stritch leaders visit directly with alumni to discuss your medical experiences and discoveries at Stritch and beyond.

  • Reunion Class Representative: Participate as a class representative to help plan and encourage participation during your class reunion year.

  • Sophomore Dinners: Open your home to second year medical students for an evening of fellowship and fun. These dinners give the students an informal opportunity to learn more about various medical careers and specialties as well as the medical education experience.

  • Stritch Annual Award Dinner & Stritch Junior Service League: The Stritch Annual Award Dinner is the medical school's gala fundraising event held in November. Volunteer your time to serve on a committee or help secure event sponsors. If you have a child, grandchild, or family member who is a high school junior or senior, they can participate in the Stritch Junior Service League and learn about the commitment to service that defines a Catholic Jesuit education.  Click here for the nomination form.

  • White Coat Ceremony: Help coat first year medical students during this event which marks a milestone in the education of a medical student — entry into clinical medicine. Our new medical students gather in the presence of their families, guests, faculty members and leaders of the Medical School to formally receive the cloak of their future profession — the white coat.
