To paraphrase Loyola's President Michael J.Garanzini, S.J., an evening
with Al Gini, PhD, is an opportunity to "feast at the table of a rare
and gifted public intellectual." An author, editor, philosopher,
teacher, and very funny man, Dr. Gini puts the "wise" in wise guy. Join
him and your fellow alumni for a discussion exploring topics in his
recent book, Seeking the Truth in Things: Confessions of a (catholic)
Philosopher. Part memoir and part introduction to key philosophical
concepts, Seeking the Truth in Things asks the big questions: "Who am
I?," "What do I owe others?," "What is love?," and "Why is sinning so
much fun?" It's philosophy you can use, and in Dr. Gini's characteristic
style, you'll be so busy grinning you won't have noticed you learned
something.
